Mustang slaughter prompts investigations
You can trust Kathleen Clarke, Bush buddy, about as far as you can throw her ...

WASHINGTON - The Interior Department has abruptly halted the delivery of mustangs to buyers to investigate whether the slaughter of 41 wild horses in April violated a federal contract requiring them to be treated humanely.

Interior's Bureau of Land Management is charged with the liquidation of some 90,000 wild horses.

The latest horses killed came from a broker who obtained them from the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. The tribe traded 87 of the 105 aging horses it bought from the government for younger ones. Interior officials said they would review whether a federal contract had been violated.

''I don't think it's fair to say they violated the agreement,'' BLM director Kathleen Clarke told The Associated Press. ''They were not traded to the animal processing facility. They were trading to a private individual.''

1. This whole issue of the mustangs losing their protection
is INFURIATING, and devastating to horse lovers and lovers of our American heritage.

Congratulations Senator Burns of Nevada, who sneaked this provision through on the must-pass appropriations bill in 2004.

4.1 million cattle range on US government (which means OUR)land in the West - about 25-30,000 mustangs. Apparently the cattle industry finds them a threat.

AAAARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

2. Rip down all Environmental Protections- "it's our policy"
Soon not much will be left of this country as we know it.
And funny, no one seems to care about much if it doesn't affect "them".
We deserve what we get if apathy rules.
