Iraqi government denies killing civilians in Baghdad
You can't make this shit up.

BAGHDAD, May 16 (Xinhuanet) -- The Iraqi government on Monday denied reports that the Iraqi National Guards killed 13 civilians in Baghdad's northern neighborhood, accusing terrorists wearing military uniforms of involving in the execution." The reports which said the Iraqi army killed the 13 civilians in Baghdad's Shaab district are not true," Sadoun al-Dulaimy, the Sunni Defense Minister told reporters at a press conference in Baghdad.

"Terrorists wearing military uniforms committed the killing of13 people and let two of them alive to sent a massage to their families that the killers were Iraqi soldiers," Dulaimy said. The minister also announced that he had ordered all the Iraqi army units "not to detain clerics or search worship houses and universities." ]]

---

"The detainees' families said they were kidnapped by the Iraqi forces and shot in the heads with hands tied behind their backs," he added.

"We have been informed lately that a force of the National Guards surrounded and searched the hospital in central Baghdad for the two survivors. The soldiers managed to arrest one of them but the other escaped," said Dhari.

8. Who but the "Iraqi National Guards" would have the opportunity
Edited on Mon May-16-05 04:00 PM by The_Casual_Observer
to do such a methodical job of executing those people and then actually dig a grave for them. I doubt that "insurgents" would have bothered to rent or get access to a backhoe, somebody would have started asking questions, I think.
