Google hires Dan Senor for VP of Global Communications and Strategy
aka Campbell Brown's boyfriend...

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/7869089/

<snip>

The Mountain View, Calif.-based search engine giant has hired Dan Senor as vice president of global communications and strategy. Senor was the chief spokesman for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq and senior adviser to U.S. Ambassador Paul Bremer.

<snip>

A Google spokesman confirms Senor and Davidson have joined the company but would not comment further. Senor and Davidson did not return e-mails or phone calls for comment.

<snip>

Senor's experience in Iraq also opens the possibility that Google can win large contracts to provide technology to the new Iraqi government. Its push into the federal market poses a serious threat to companies that sell search software to the government, such as Vienna-based Convera.

6. Wait, that would be the Google that "makes money without doing evil"?
http://www.google.com/intl/en/corporate/tenthings.html

After this, they should add "...but you can make a hell of a lot more if you ally with evil!"

I've been doing fine with Yahoo! Search for a while now. It's right on the Yahoo! home page, and I get enough of what I'm after to be renowned throughout the office (if not at DU :( ) for my research prowess.

10. Isn't yahoo tied up with the
devil, too? I thought I read that on DU..that yahoo was bad news. I could be wrong. I've never tried another search engine besides google but I'd love to find one that was kosher so to speak.

17. I've used Yahoo and find stuff Google doesn't come up with. But, I
wonder if the time isn't ripe for a competitor to both of them that isn't so based on Ads and Pumps. I used "Metacrawler" before Google but I think it's gone now. Good opportunity given the amount of "poltical research" going on out there by "just us folks."

It's all about the money to run the site, though..sadly.

I guess they figured if the kid could spin the CPA line with a straight face, he's quite the PR champion. Well trained in the Ari and Scott school of bullshit.

Definition:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googlebomb

"Google bomb"
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
(Redirected from Googlebomb)
A Google bomb or Google wash is an attempt to influence the ranking of a given site in results returned by the Google search engine. Due to the way that Google's PageRank algorithm works, a website will be ranked higher if the sites that link to that page all use consistent anchor text. Googlebomb is used both as a verb and a noun.

See Spamdexing for the practice of deliberately and dishonestly modifying HTML pages to increase the chance of them being placed close to the beginning of search engine results, or to influence the category to which the page is assigned in a dishonest manner.

13. Goodby Google. Oh, and fuck you very much for everything.
I am officially dumping Google, froogle, and everything in between. And.. I think Google is rampantly ignorant of how strong the 70k members of DU can be in our quiet boycotts. Let's do the math for the Google idiots: 70K members of DU x how many people we regurlarly email + millions that read liberal blogs = OOPSIE Google screwed itself this time.
