At least 33 people have been killed in a series of bomb explosions across Baghdad.

Attacks were carried out on the International Commitee of the Red Cross headquarters and police stations in the Iraqi capital.

The first explosion near the ICRC building killed ten people and wounded at least 15.

and this story gives more detail, but says "39" dead

Suicide Attacks Kill 39 Across Baghdad

Car bombers struck the international Red Cross headquarters and four police stations across Baghdad on Monday, killing about 40 people in a spree of destruction that terrorized the Iraqi capital on the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, according to police and Red Cross reports.

The Red Cross said 12 were killed there, and police said 27 were killed in the police station bombings, most of them Iraqis but including at least one U.S. soldier. The U.S. authorities did not confirm an American death.

The bombings came hours after clashes in the Baghdad area killed three U.S. soldiers overnight, and a day after insurgents devastated a hotel full of U.S. occupation officials with a rocket barrage, killing a U.S. colonel and wounding 18 other people. U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz was in the hotel, but was unhurt.

this is beyond dreadful

1. That's just the liberal filter
You have to realize that, objectively, everything is hunky dory. The real story is school openings, not a few dead bodies or a rash of suicide bombings here 'n' there. Why do you believe the media rather than your own president? Just shut up.

2. Soccer balls
Sean Hannity was mad that the "liberal media" was ignoring the major story: US troops handing out soccer balls to Iraqi children.

Scary. These people want the US media to be like some kind of a state run propaganda machine that would have fit right in in the Soviet Union, Castro's Cuba and yes, Saddam Hussein's Iraq.
