DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.



Sgt. Dominic J. Sacco, 32, of Albany, N.Y., died in Taji, Iraq, on Nov. 20, when his M1A1 Abrams tank was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. Sacco was assigned to the Army's 1st Battalion, 13th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Some of them don't want to leave their fellow soldiers though.

2. Shit, we are at nearly 2,100 and nothing is being done
to end this madness and bring the troops home. Nothing we do will affect the ultimate outcome in Iraq: we lost this war!

Let's stop putting names on a future Iraq War Memorial, shall we?

Never a good time to lose a loved one - but the holidays are the worst.

The toll will be 2100 for Thanksgiving.

And probably 2200 for Christmas.

Army Sgt. Dominic Sacco was killed Sunday morning. He was shot in the chest by a sniper as he was trying to open the hatch of his tank.
