PARCHMAN, Miss. (AP) - A 77-year-old convicted hitman was executed Wednesday, becoming the oldest
person in the nation put death since capital punishment was reinstated nearly three decades ago.

John B. Nixon Sr. still claimed innocence as he was strapped to the death chamber gurney, and
blamed one of his sons for the 1985 murder of a Mississippi woman.

"I did not kill Virginia Tucker," Nixon said before he was given the lethal injection. "I know
within my heart, and it hurts to acknowledge, that it was a son of mine and a Spanish friend and
another man from Jackson."

Nixon, a former car mechanic, did not say which son he blamed.

1. Mm Hm. Anyway.
NEW YORK - One of Dave Chappelle's former employees says the comic asked him to be his manager for nine months beginning last year, but never paid him.

In a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, Mustafa Abuelhija said Chappelle told him in September 2004 that he could be his personal manager and spread the word to his financial aides but never put it in writing.

The deal outlined in Chappelle's business and financial records called for Abuelhija to receive 5 percent of Chappelle's revenue from personal appearances and 10 percent of entertainment deals, according to the lawsuit, which was filed Monday.

2. We execute kids, the insane, mentally retarded...why not an 80 year old?
No wonder this country's the laughingstock of the world. If only it were funny.

12. Next up in California, a 75 year old blind diabetic in a wheel chair.

Clarence Ray Allen, the next inmate scheduled to die in San Quentin State Prison's execution chamber, may pose a quandary as vexing for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Stanley Tookie Williams.

Allen, who has spent more than a quarter-century on Death Row, is slated to die by lethal injection Jan. 17. He would be the oldest and most infirm prisoner executed in the United States since the death penalty was restored in 1977, according to his lawyers.

Allen, who turns 76 on Jan. 16, uses a wheelchair. An advanced case of diabetes has left him legally blind. He suffered a heart attack Sept. 2.

13. Allen hadn't spent a decade trying redeem himself so not as much
attention was paid.

He also wasn't notable to the media because he had no involvement with high-profile things like LA gangs.

Thus, to the media, he was completely unremarkable.

14. Of course not.
There were no celebrities, PR firms, armies of lawyers, or Jesse Jacksons demanding that his sentence to be commuted. I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked!

What hypocrites the fashionable "Tookie" crowd is.

7. I sent an e-mail to the governor and signed an on-line petition
against his execution. I knew it wouldn't save him, but, living overseas it's the best I could do. Only 11 days til Christmas and we've executed two people in a short time. Merry f***ing Christmas Y'all.

9. Whew, I feel safe now.
I woke up with a huge shit-eating grin on my face this morning, ecstatic with the notion that a 77-year-old man will never be able to hurt me or anyone else ever again. Three cheers for killing old people!

A Tale of Two Executions
by Michael P. Tremoglie
15 December 2005

The many groups that coalesced to protest the execution of Tookie Williams did nothing for contract killer John Nixon.

*snip*

However, there was another difference between Williams and Nixon. One that may explain why so many groups coalesced to protest the execution of Tookie Williams and not John Nixon. A difference other than Williams’ history of violence, his history of crime as opposed to Nixon’s history of working for a living. A difference other than Williams’ creation of an organized crime group and Nixon’s military service.

Nixon was white. Tookie was black. Maybe that explains the reason why the silence was deafening when John Nixon was executed and a din of protests for Williams.

Could it be that the protests about the Tookie Williams execution were just another example of racial exploitation by liberals?
:eyes:

Probably.

Here is the fun part:

(Correction: After this article was published, Amnesty International contacted Mr. Tremoglie and notified him that it released a press release regarding Mr. Nixon's execution.)
