Mortar attacks on Green Zone

At least three mortars have been fired at the Green Zone in central Baghdad and sirens were heard wailing throughout the heavily fortified area.

At least one mortar landed in the Tigris River running through the city. It was not immediately known if there was any damage or injuries from the attack.

The Green Zone houses much of the Iraqi government, the US and other embassies.

They were the fav of the Viet Cong, infiltrate, and set one off into Siagon, devestating for morale.The Palestinians use them, crude, but you con't need to have long distance rockets.I bet the U.S. occupation would be over real soon if they started lob'm rockets into the green zone.
