The price of a gallon of gasoline is expected to rise up to one pound ($1.75) in the coming months, says the AA Motoring Trust.

The AA report said family budgets will remain under heavy strain as the average gasoline bill for a typical two-car family has risen by $600 over the past year, the Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.

The rising cost of crude oil and the prospect of political pressure on Iran, the world's fourth biggest oil producer, does not augur well for the cost of car fuel this year, said Ruth Bridger,

6. No, it means a rise to a pound per litre
It's currently about 90 pence per litre, and did make it to about 95p per litre in the previous price spike. Diesel went to over a pound a litre in some places.

January 2006's UK average petrol price of 89.35p a litre compared with 79.64p at the start of 2005, the AA Motoring Trust said.
...
In the US - albeit where fuel is much cheaper than in Europe - drivers are now paying an average of 35.27p a litre for petrol, which is 32% more than a year ago.

Petrol has risen 34% to 72.04p a litre in Greece, Germany and Belgium have seen petrol prices rise 16% in a year, and Spain has had a 15% rise.

So the absolute increase in the UK and USA was about the same - 9.71p per litre in the UK, and 8.55p in the USA.

2. Blair's in trouble by getting to close to G.W.
Right on.

Blair is in big trouble getting in bed with G.W. Bush's ego and lack of empathy for anyone other than the corporatocracy (a word coined by John Perkins in his book "Confession of an Economic Hit man),is very clear. A Capitalist extraordinary! It's his way or the highway.

Blair thought he was going on a ride: but he's being taken for a ride by
G.W.
