Bush doesn’t see Rice running for president
‘You need to take her at her word that she’s not running,’ he says

WASHINGTON - President Bush believes Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice when she says she does not want to be president, and he says he does not know what role he will play in picking the GOP presidential nominee in 2008.

“I think you need to take her at her word that she’s not running,” Bush said in a conversation on Air Force One on Wednesday as he flew to Tennessee for a speech.

“Today I met with her, for example. When I sat down with her, I wasn’t thinking politics, I was thinking about what will I do to continue to keep the pressure on Iran, so that they give up their nuclear ambitions,” Bush said.

The president says he is more focused on this year’s midterm elections.

Sure, like we 'took her at her word' that she "didn't see anything about OBL" . . .

6. She's Running for the Hills, Folks
And she's not the only one. There's going to be a whole tribe of ex-pats seeking friendly shelter in a country that hasn't yet been pissed off and doesn't have an extradition program nor any fondness for the International Criminal Courts.

Is there any such place (besides the US, I mean)?

10. how nice of him, to take it upon himself ...
... to speak for Dr. Rice. Just as he unilaterally decided to act as spokesperson for the First Lady, and say that Laura had no political ambitions either.

An all-round obliging guy, isn't he.
