Boy Says Perfect Day Involves Violence Against Bush

WEST WARWICK, R.I. -- A seventh-grader who wrote an essay saying his perfect day would involve doing violence to President George W. Bush is being investigated by the Secret Service.

The unidentified boy from West Warwick turned in the essay on Tuesday, and his teacher alerted school officials. The assignment was to write about what he would do on a perfect day.

Thomas M. Powers, Secret Service resident agent in charge in Providence, said the investigation is ongoing but the essay may have been a "cry for help." Threatening the president is a felony, he said.

The one-page essay also said the student wanted to kill Oprah Winfrey, hurt executives at Coca-Cola and Wal-Mart and attack a Walgreens pharmacy, police and school officials told The Providence Journal.

2. Excitable boy they all said
Well, he went down to dinner in his Sunday best
Excitable boy, they all said
And he rubbed the pot roast all over his chest
Excitable boy, they all said

He took in the four a.m. show at the Clark
Excitable boy, they all said
And he bit the usherette's leg in the dark
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

He took little Suzie to the Junior Prom
Excitable boy, they all said
And he raped her and killed her, then he took her home
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy
After ten long years they let him out of the home
Excitable boy, they all said
And he dug up her grave and built a cage with her bones
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

5. Seriously, if they take the threats of a 7th grader seriously...
They should investigate those that are not only old enough to actually do something, but also those holding prominent positions on the national stage (as much as it pains me to say that Ann Coulter does...).

This student should have prefaced his essay with "just kidding". It works for her.

23. Ann Coulter is less vague
She details HOW the death should be accomplished. Where is the investigation into her inappropriate (and suggestive to a young mind) comments?

I'm surprised the Republicans with their "family values" :eyes: aren't doing something about it. More do as we say, not as we do crap?

4. Where's the paper?
I don't believe the charges against the kid unless I see him admit to it. A Bush-spook got his evil hands on the kid and I don't believe any claims by people that support Bush until they've been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

8. That's not a threat, though, is it?
He didn't threaten to hurt the pres, he just said it would be part of a perfect day. Different deal.

He needs help, no doubt, but the SS? Give me a break.

9. General threat, anger against everyone letter, not just Mrbush.
It was threatening a whole bunch of people, should've been reported to appropriate peoples, not meaning SS since it was a general anger letter.

Before turning him over to the authorities? Good teachers use to protect their overimaginative charges. This kid sounds hyper, not dangerous.

Edited on Thu Feb-02-06 05:03 PM by superconnected
He didn't say he was going to do those things, he said a perfect day would be doing those things.

I think he was clowning around and the teacher over-reacted.

I'm worried about the teacher calling the SS.

Why didn't the school call his counsellor, or the police if they believed him to be a threat. Instead we have another nazi sympathizer turning someone in for creative writing.

Poor kid. Poor student body. I feel sorry for them.

19. I agree, what a society we live in. A good warning about what happens
to people who talk that way, unless he has some other really serious problems and wasn't just a bad joker, should have taken care of it. And if he has other problems, he needs help, not the SS.

And as someone else said, did Ann Coulter get a visit from the SS yet? That boy is apparently being influenced by people like Ann Coulter and Pat Robertson, who have a history of threatening public officials ~

22. Minus the violence against individuals...
it sounds to me like this seventh grader has quite a grasp on (geo)political events, especially citing Coca Cola, Wal Mart and Walgreens who are all notorious for anti union labor.

Not quite a kudos, yet remarkable.

28. A perfect day for Bu$h is the death of our troops and innocent Iraqi`s.
Based on a huge pack of lies. Soley for the profits of the military industrial complex, energy companies, and companies that rebuild what Bu$h`s murder machine destroy`s. So he inspires people to have similar desires as himself. To quote Gomer Pyle "Surprise,Surprise".

A boy who writes an essay that's going to be read by a teacher and school admin. and a pundit who has been awarded numerous times by different conservative organizations and who has access to a much larger public audience.

:grr:

That bitch should have been investigated years ago.
