Former weapons inspector warns of US-Iran war

Former United Nations weapons inspector and ex-marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter told a crowd of about 500 gathered at the West Hartford Town Hall that, "...the Bush administration is fixing intelligence around policy on Iran," and that it could lead to a new US war in the Middle East. He noted that the administration used a similar approach in its current war in Iraq. "There is nothing to prevent the president from going to war in Iran. He has no respect for checks and balances. We're heading toward Tehran unless we get representatives in Congress who respect the constitution of the United States," he said.

3. Whatever happened to that child porn case against him?
I've wondered if it was a set-up, considering the timing of it and all.

4. Can't trojans insert porn onto people's computer?
I don't know the correct terminology (sorry). But can't you infect someone's computer with porn without person knowing it?

7. If the target did not have a firewall, any junior sysadmin
could do it. It's pretty easy to ftp files to a numeric IP address.

8. I thought it was supposed to be a meeting with a minor
He says "it never happened," and I think he believes it was a setup by the Bush mob.

23. Of course it was a setup
At least, most probably so. Dissenters with less publicity than Ritter had instead manage to commit suicide by very strange means. Thankfully Ritter survived the attack.

5. Take a look at a map
How many troups and bases do we have in Afganistan? How many in Iraq?

What do you think is between the two.

Coincidence?

6. Does anyone recall how many, many hours were spent by visitors to DU
trying to destroy Scott Ritter's image? They wore themselves out. I believe occassional Ritter character assassins will stagger by from time to time whenever his name is publicised again for any reason whatsoever.

They couldn't get any traction whatsoever until his bogus morals charge surfaced suddenly when he was a very effective thorn in Bush's approaching Iraq invasion plans, and media attention to Ritter quickly disappeared, although Ritter didn't. He keeps on ticking. What a terrific Marine, American, advocate for sanity.

Time has proven him 100% accurate on Iraq.

10. Did anyone notice the last media blitz on Iran?
On CNBC they had some "experts" on who said war with Iran was "inevitable." Soon, if they haven't already, they'll do some polls asking people if they think war with Iran is inevitable, and you'll get about 75% saying yes. Just don't ever ask them how they know these things.

They've brought a whole new meaning to, "When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you."

12. Old Facts - Just in time for Fitzmas
Haliburton is aiding Iran with their WMD.

You might not remember this news item, but I knew the whole Iran thing would not go away. So we can see the "FIX" has been in at least this long:

Halliburton Secretly Doing Business with Key Member of Iran’s Nuclear Team

by Jason Leopold
August 5, 2005

Scandal-plagued Halliburton, the oil services company once headed by Vice President Dick was secretly working with one of Iran’s top nuclear scientists on natural gas related projects and, allegedly, selling the scientists’ oil company key components for a nuclear reactor, according to Halliburton sources with intimate knowledge of both companies’ business dealings.

Just last week a National Security Council report said Iran was a decade away from acquiring a nuclear bomb. That time frame could arguably have been significantly longer if Halliburton, which just reported a 284 percent increase in its fourth quarter profits due to its Iraq reconstruction contracts, was not actively providing the Iranian government with the financial means to build a nuclear weapon.

Now comes word that Halliburton, which has a long history of flouting U.S. law by conducting business with countries the Bush administration said has ties to terrorism, was working with Cyrus Nasseri, the vice chairman of Oriental Oil Kish, one of Iran’s largest private oil companies, on oil development projects in Tehran. Nasseri is also a key member of Iran’s nuclear development team.

*************************************************************

Nasseri was interrogated by Iranian authorities in late July for allegedly providing Halliburton with Iran’s nuclear secrets and accepting as much as $1 million in bribes from Halliburton, according to Iranian government officials.

*************************************************************

HOW is Iran a credible threat if Cheney's company Haliburton has access to Iran's nuclear secrets? Or is this the new "Niger Forgery" translated into Iranian?

16. For the record, he hasn't.
Last year Scott Ritter said the U.S. was going to attack in June. How did that work out?

Don't get me wrong: I like Ritter, and his warnings should be taken seriously. However, an attack on Iran is a physical impossibility if the US wants to remain an empire.

Here's a short article on why: www.brainshrub.com/us-war-iran

20. That's true, and thanks for the link
Maybe he had the wrong June, but I do remember him saying that last year since you jogged my memory.

We don't have the ground troops anymore. Personally, the only option the Bush Crime Family seems to have is an air war, with Israeli support.

which made me think, "Well I guess we can't invade Iran now" Thats all I remember...I haven't a clue what what the reason was now.

24. Not the whole country
A small slice of Iran close to Iraq and containing most of Iran's oil is probably doable. That it would be a seriously stupid thing to do may not stop them.

19. Like we don't see this coming...Iran/Israel war, US to the rescue
Somehow I can see a skirmish between Israel and Iran. Bush and Co. step in to save our ally, Israel.
I would be willing to bet that the size of the skirmish would in no way merit our intervention but according to the "suits and uniforms" in DC, we have to go in to save the world from tyranny. I'm not trying to make light of a serious situation but the boys inside the beltway have cried wolf too often. I don't believe a word any more.
