3000 demonstrate for peace
3000 demonstrate for peace

Feb. 6 - Danes gathered near the offices of a newspaper which printed cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in a bid for peace.

The Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Møller said that false stories had been circulated such as one saying that the Koran had been burned in Denmark.

He said there was no truth in the rumours.

Møller repeated his statement that the Danish government did not print the newspapers and that those who committed blasphemy were breaking Danish law and would be prosecuted.

2. those who committed blasphemy ... would be prosecuted.
I think that sucks. That is suppressing basic rights out of fear of terrorism. Those cartoons were not particularly offensive. If people find them offensive, don't look at them. If they attack the cartoonists, arrest the attackers.

5. How odd
Blasphemy against what?

Is the Danish government going to enforce Muslim law. That's too weird to even believe.

Must be a translation mix-up or something.

3. blasphemy will be prosecuted?
If they back down now and prosecute anyone for "blasphemy", I will lose my respect for the Danes.
