AWB aware of Iraq kickbacks, former exec says

A second former manager at AWB has told the Cole inquiry the wheat exporter was fully aware that payments to a Jordanian trucking company ended up with Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq.

Dominic Hogan says he was told to ignore his own suspicions about payments and later urged to take training on how to answer questions about the scandal.

Commissioner Terence Cole is heading the inquiry investigating $300 million worth of payments made by wheat exporter AWB to the former Iraqi regime in contravention of UN sanctions against Iraq.

Mr Hogan was AWB's Middle East manager until 2003 when he suffered a breakdown and quit.
