Bush calls Danish PM with support in cartoon row

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush called Denmark's prime minister on Tuesday to voice support for the Nordic country, whose embassies are the target of violent protests over cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad.

"I am happy to inform you that just a few minutes ago, President Bush called me to express support and solidarity with Denmark in the light of the violence against Danish and other diplomatic missions," said Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

"We agreed that the way ahead is through dialogue and tolerance, not violence," Rasmussen told a news conference.

3. Not to mention that the State Department already scolded the papers
that did publish the cartoon.

6. That's what I was thinking.
George Bush would be the LAST person I'd want to hear from. And he's got enough on his plate without attaching his name to this particular controversy.

4. Oh please. The last thing you need is for GWB to get involved.
"How to defuse this tense and escalating situation? I know! We'll call Crusader Boy!"

Next week he'll by leading a Danish-American 'coalition' across the border into Iran, you watch.

C ya,

The Plaid Adder

7. Bush, no doubt is tickled pink
that the violence has escalated as it helps his cause to invade Islamic countries. Let the religious wars begin.

11. He always has to take sides ...
couldn't he just for once offer our help to find a way to peacefully resolve this. He could have done something positive, get a dialogue going, be a go between. Even it it didn't work and he was told to bug out, it would have been better than this. He always has to be a prick.

13. Megalomaniacs are not people of
peace, especially if they believe they have God on their side. The man really believes he has the power to change the world even if it involves killing off the 'enemies of freedom'.

18. I think they're already in...
but they passed a law saying that any sign of CIA rendition flights in their airspace would be all but an act of war and the flights would be shot down.

14. Yep, that's how Dubya thinks...dialogue & tolerance not violence...WTF??
That's like the Cabinet meeting last week or so where Dubya announced that, in reference to the Hamas win, true "democracies" must lay down their weapons as "democracies" are nations of peace and not of war.

Oh what a tangled web we weave...
