Laura Bush greeted in Turin by demos
Laura Bush greeted in Turin by demos

Feb. 11 - Students staged an anti-Bush demonstration in the Winter Olympic city of Turin on Saturday during the official visit of the US First Lady Laura Bush.

Security was tight outside her first port-of-call, the University building, where some students were not backing the demonstration.

"These protests are absurd and completely useless," said one woman. "They should be working rather than protesting about everything."

The demonstration was peaceful and Mrs Bush's motorcade arrived without incident.

Said one protestor: "We are protesting here outside the University because the presence of these individuals in a place that represents critical thought and Turin's culture, are not welcome.

14. Ugh - okay how much is her little trip costing us?
We know Georgie travels with an entourage of 800 , plus cars, helicopters, and carpenters to secure the windows of any mansion or palace he stays in. What the f**k is Pickles doing there, anyway? I'd much rather have Susan Sarandon representing ME.

Full credit to laststeamtrain on this one. I read the OP's words too quickly.
Apologies to the OP, but not to Laura Bush.

What kind of reporting is this? Shoddy.

"These protests are absurd and completely useless," said one woman. "They should be working rather than protesting about everything."

So, this "one woman" who didn't like the student protests...was she:

A. An Italian
B. An American
C. A member of the Bush entorage
D. A bystander
E. An involved party

This kind of reporting is less than useless...it is problamatic. I can write an article about Bush, then throw into the middle the quote,

"This president is absurd and completely useless," said one woman. "He should be working rather than talking about everything and nothing."

25. Laura Bush has done absolutely nothing as First Lady.
8 years we will have of nothing.

No programs for the sick, elderly, poor!

How can she even have an issue for her legacy when her moron husband does nothing for the people of this country.

My question is; WHAT WILL HER LEGACY BE?

They parade her out to try to shore up her husbands sinking poll numbers. That's all I have seen her do, unless you count the Xmas specials........at least Nancy Reagan had that stupid "just so NO" campaign. Laura doesn't even pretend to do anything.......
