Hutchinson downplays impeachment role
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - As one of the House managers in the 1999 impeachment case against Bill Clinton, Asa Hutchinson went before the Senate and pleaded with it to turn the president out of office for lying in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Now that Hutchinson wants to be governor of Arkansas, his role in Clinton's impeachment doesn't even rate a footnote in the Republican candidate's official campaign biography or a mention at most political gatherings.

"It's something that's a historical fact, but it's also something that's in the past," the former congressman said in a recent interview. "It's a burden our country had to bear. But it's the future I'm focusing on."

Because of the enduring affection for Clinton in his home state, however, some Democrats want Arkansans to remember Hutchinson's past.

1. Asa is full of B S
"a burden our country had to bear" my foot! It was burden forced upon our country by the REPIGS and Asa was smack in the middle of it! He will not succeed in rewriting that history in Arkansas, in my opinion. My neighbors to the south know very well what Ken Starr and his bunch of hoodlums did to the good people in Arkansas and will not soon forget it.

2. I don't live in Arkansaw and I want every one to remember all who....
participated. Clinton was a good president. Who but the most blind idiot can say that about the current occupant of the White House.
Clinton ought to campaign against the SOB, just to show how much he has forgotten and forgiven, like never.

4. Great idea!
It would be so cool to see the Big Dog campaigning against Asa! I would absolutely love to see whiney Asa's reaction to that! What a fun campaign that would be to watch.

5. Well count me as one of those Democrats that want Arkansans to
remember dear Asa's role not only in Clinton's impeachment, but also his role in wasting millions of dollars at Homeland Security. And I intend to tell them about both!

6. Actually Asa, it's not in the past,
Everything since 2000 can be directly attributed to your party's petty, partisan, hypocritical, self righteous, demagogue inspired witch hunt against Clinton. You can go Cheney your self.

7. I'm from Arkansas
And I will never forget Asa the ass and his role in the impeachment. Thankfully we got rid of his adultery committing brother Timmy. And Asa's time has long since gone. He can get out of Arkansas and never return.

9. Hadn't heard about that
Timmy boy was banging somebody who worked for him. And as with Newt, I believe this was not a well known fact at the time they were impeaching Clinton. He divorced his wife and married her. That is why he lost his re-election bid. The right-wing fundies were not very forgiving of him.

Would like to know which one was banging Ingraham!
