Iran calls for British pullout from Basra

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki called for the immediate withdrawal of British forces from Shiite-populated south Iraq and ending U.S. occupation.

Speaking during an official visit to Lebanon Friday, Mottaki accused British forces in Basra of committing immoral and inhuman acts against Iraqi youths, violating the basics of human rights.

"We believe that the presence of British armed forces in Basra resulted in destabilizing security, posing real threats on south Iran in the last period," Mottaki said.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran calls for the immediate withdrawal of British forces from Basra," he added.

2. LOL...
Now Iran's foreign minister (not missing a beat) has decided to make 'grand' demands of the coalition. Indeed, Britain should get out of Iran...take the USA with you.

Iranians must have a sense of humour, no?
