Protests planned for Bush's India trip
Protests planned for Bush's India trip
NEW DELHI, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush will encounter noisy protests during his upcoming visit to India, leftist leaders in New Delhi have pledged.

Street protests are planned by opponents of globalization as well as members of the Communist Party and other leftist parties.

"The Left says it is not going to let Bush go around India in peace," The Times of India reported Monday.

Bush is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi March 1 and then visit Hyderabad, a center of India's information technology, before flying to Pakistan March 4.

The government does not want the U.S. president to address Parliament, the newspaper said, for fear his speech would be disrupted by opposition party members.

4. As many jobs as they got off his policies,
I would have thought they'd love to have him around and give him the keys to the city.

Of course, once he becomes allied to an organization, he manages to bankrupt it. So nevermind.

5. I hope he takes time to have a photo op with
"Bob" and "Mike" and "Joe" and all the thousands of other Indian citizens at call desks throughout the country doing a piss poor job of answering American's questions about problems they're having with electronic devices manufactured offshore as well.

Everytime I get connected to some guy at the no-help desk with the bogus name "Jim" who is reading from a script, my blood boils.

9. Comrades vow street protests during Bush visit (India)
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1420907.cms
NEW DELHI: Come what may, Communists who keep the Congress-led government alive are determined to make President George Bush's coming visit a memorable one -- through noisy anti-US street protests.

Along with those opposed to the policies of globalisation, including some who may come from abroad, and other political parties, the Left says it is not going to let Bush go around India in peace.
SNIP
The Left Front, led by the CPI(M), plans to march from central Delhi's Ramlila Maidan ground to Jantar Mantar, about five kilometres away, not far from parliament. Top communist leaders including the CPI(M)'s Prakash Karat will lead this protest.

Other leftwing parties and groups may join the anti-Bush chorus of the four-party Left Front. The possibility of Muslim groups holding demonstrations against Bush is also not ruled out.

the man can go nowhere without protests. I hope he knows he is the most hated man on earth today.

12. That's our Bush!
A man filled with such charm, no one forgets when he's expected in town.
************

Interestingly, Bush himself knows this. Bush is no stranger to demonstrations, even heckling. It's happened to him on a number of occasions. He even admits, "I do that to people". he heh he

Just last month when the new German chancellor Angela Merkel came to visit, Bush made an idiotic comment like "looks like we both didn't win by a landslide". He even made a comment like they both pissed people off.

I hope they raise holy hell in India. I hope he has to take an army of bodyguards with him....100,000 just to protec the clown.
