Bush condemns mosque bombing, urges restraint

WASHINGTON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush condemned the bombing of a major Shi'ite Muslim shrine in Iraq on Wednesday but appealed to Iraqis for restraint amid sectarian reprisals that fueled fears of civil war.

"The terrorists in Iraq have again proven that they are enemies of all faiths and of all humanity," Bush said in a statement after the dawn attack that devastated the Golden Mosque in Samarra, one of Shi'ite Islam's holiest shrines.

Bush called the bombing a "cowardly act" and a "senseless crime," and also promised U.S. help to track down those responsible for the bombing and to repair the shrine. Three Sunni clerics were among six people killed at 27 Sunni mosques in Baghdad hit in revenge attacks.

"I ask all Iraqis to exercise restraint in the wake of this tragedy, and to pursue justice in accordance with the laws and constitution of Iraq. Violence will only contribute to what the terrorists sought to achieve by this act," Bush said.

4. Who the hell is the chimp to criticize a bombing
in Iraq after all of the atrocities we've committed - and continue to commit - there? I am in no way condoning the sectarian violence or bombing of the mosque, but we, the invaders, are ultimately responsible for the bloody, tragic mess Iraq has become.

17. Well, there you have it.......
"Bush urges restraint." I'm sure that now that he has said that everything will be hunky dory. All those people fighting over there were just waiting for him to say the word and they're all going to obey the grand master. Yeah, right. He has absolutely no credibility with anyone, not even Americans. Who listens to his shit anyway?

21. Bu$h `s "Shock and Awe" terrorist attack started this freaking mess
And our country was never attacked by any Iraqi`s. Whoever writes and prints this crap should point out that Bu$h is the last person on the planet to advise people not to participate in senseless killings. He is the king of senseless murderers(In my opinion anyway). If Bu$h ever would take his head out of his ass he could see what he has achieved. Our troops and innocent Iraqi`s in a slow moving meat grinder. All because of him and his war crime for profit buddies. Bu$h is definitely an enemy to all faiths and all humanity just as he accuses others of being so.
Peace
Wildman
