3. I believe it's what's known as a "talus" cave

meaning one formed when large boulders in the sides of a narrow gorge collapse and cover over the bottom. It's not a limestone or "solution" cave formed by the dissolving of sedimentary rock by the slow work of water over time. Talus caves can have large entrances but usually are not very complex or extensive after that (with some exceptions) and they usually follow the course of the old gorge bottom.
