Two Oklahoma Soldiers Killed In Iraq
Two "Joshuas". Sounds almost like some kind of biblical prophesy...

snip>"The sister of Joshua Pearce of Guymon says Pearce died Sunday when the Army vehicle he was in hit an explosive device near Baghdad. Two other American soldiers also died in the explosion.

And the mother of Army Private Joshua Powers of Skiatook says Powers was killed Saturday in southern Baghdad."

3. Prayer for The White Man
To my Oklahoma brothers:

Prayer for The White Man

And now, Grandfather, I ask you to bless
the White Man.

He needs your Wisdom, your guidance.
You see, for so long,
he has tried to destroy my people,
and only feels comfortable
when given power.

Bless them, show them
the peace we understand,
teach them humility.
For I fear they will
someday destroy themselves
and their children,

As they have done so Mother Earth.
I plead, I cry.
After all, They are my Brothers.......

5. My Joshua turns 16 tomorrow
He already talks about what he will do if the draft comes back. It saddens me that we have to make these kind of plans. On the other hand, my nephew who also lives with me keeps talking to recruiters against my advice. He also is just short of 16. We have to get these criminals out of government now!

6. My prayers go out for both families and all friends of these brave men
It is terrible to lose anyone - but it hurts even more when they are young.

My wedding party was hit by 'Nam and within 2 years among the dead was my best man.

I can only offer the thought that while nothing "heals" this, time will dim the emotions, and allow one to focus on only remembering and celebrating their short life before death.

But it will never be enough. The idea that Bush could send folks to war so incompetently, with no media objection to the lack of armor/equipement/manpower....

May the Joshuas now both find comfort in the Lord, and may the still living remember them as the brave men they were.

7. How many more are gonna have to die for you junior?

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

10. Yes, I know...
It's beyond evil that men who are already richer than Midas ever dreamed of are so eager to send men and women who mean everything to their loved ones, to die for more wealth. They are so beyond normal feelings of contempt, that I really can't describe how I feel.

Bush and Cheney, of course, don't care, but there are everyday people in the world who will be forever scarred by their loved one's deaths. The rest of us, even those of us who don't know anybody serving in Iraq or Afghanistan are deeply saddened by their needless sacrifices.

14. update 03-04-06
the funeral will be held in pearces home town guymon, Ok. on tuesday. the reverend phelps has promised to protest. Oklahoma's Democratic gov brad henry yesterday signed the bill banning protests at funerals. from one hour before the funeral to one hour after. and no closer that 500 feet from any mortuary, cemetary,or church where a funeral is being held. Law enforcement WILL be out in force on tuesday. might get interesting.
