W.House, senators spar over move to censure Bush
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 10:09 AM by Astrad
"White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Feingold's move "has more to do with 2008 politics than anything else," referring to the political jockeying over who will succeed Bush in the 2008 election."

Why does it being politically-motivated (and I'm not saying it is) automatically dismiss it? The natural follow up (not from this Press corps of course) would be: "Yeah so what? You're saying it's politically expedient to censure the president. So you're in effect admitting then that most americans are sympathetic to this idea. Why would that be?"

1. Scotty's "spokespersoning" is politically motivated!
That is the oldest canard in the playbook, calling it politically motivated. It's politics, and therefore, anything any of them say or do is ultimately politically motivated, including sending a bald, lying fat fuck out in front of the cameras to denounce your opposition.

5. "Best defense is a good offense"
It's the Bushistas' favorite trick and they play it every time: whenever criticized, turn the tables and assault the critic. It's what they do - no surprises there.

8. That one line has shut the Democrats up for 25 years now. Everything
they do is politically motivated. Everything the repubs do is honorable.

12. They're politicians. It would be bizarre if it wasn't
politically motivated. It would be like a doctor performing operations that weren't medically motivated.
