Iraqi leader promises to honor reward promise

UNDATED Iraq's prime minister says the 25 (m) million-dollar bounty on Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's (AH'-boo MOO'-sahb ahl-zahr-KOW'-eez) head will be paid.

Nouri al-Maliki (NOO'-ree ahl-MAH'-lih-kee) declared to al-Arabiya T-V, "We will meet our promise."

The U-S had offered the payout for information leading to the death or capture of the militant leader.

U-S officials say an al-Qaida-in-Iraq insider identified al-Zarqawi's spiritual adviser. Officials say intelligence agents watched him closely and he led them to the militant leader.
