At least 50 bodies found in Baghdad (10/2)
BAGHDAD (AFP) - At least 50 corpses were discovered scattered around Baghdad overnight, police have said.

The bodies all bore bullet wounds and are most likely the victims of the sectarian dirty war raging in the capital between rival Sunni and Shiite armed groups, a police official said.

The daily count of corpses showed a brief lull during a total curfew imposed on Baghdad on Saturday, but since it was lifted early Sunday levels of violence, including bombings, have returned to their previous levels.

On Sunday, police reported a mass kidnapping when armed men, some of them wearing security-style uniforms, stormed a food processing plant and kidnapped 26 people, four of whom subsequently escaped.

It is not known if some of those kidnapped were among the corpses found dumped in the streets.

1. The body count showed 'a brief lull'? It dropped from like 50 to 26 or
something?

I guess it's all just in how you view it. Some must be able to thing that 26 (or so) tortured and dead is a heck of a lot better than 50 or whatever. It's all just a matter of being able to rationalize the obscene, something that Henry Kissinger was always good at.

And not these disgusting barbarian killer clowns have drug the old ghoul out of whatever bloody closet he's been hiding in for the last few years. He, rumsfeld, and cheney are three of a kind.

2. Shame is that to end this you have to publicise the sick Foley thing
People should have been screaming about this civil war. If people had and ended GOP rule then, perhaps, Foley would have been a private citizen who local law enforcement would have imprisonned years ago

3. Well then...everythings going as planned huh?

My latest concern is that hunkered down in the Green Zone, our troops are basically surrounded.
That's an undesirable position for a military force. Just ask the other George: Custer.

When the smoke clears on this revolution, a united Iraq may turn it's sights on the foreign occupation in overwhelming numbers.

We'll see how they spin that.

14. This has to be Iraqi army black-ops, desperately trying to find insurgents
I guess the newly formed Iraqi army took their lessons from Negroponte, and have created their very own paramilitary secret death squads. Hey, they used these methods in Honduras and El Salvador, may as well give a try in Iraq.

Revolting.

16. Black ops ?
Not really. If it were black ops they would be making some attempt at being covert.

It doesn't seem that way here. It seems like they can be as blatent as they want, without fear of the rule of law. Probably because they ARE the rule of law.

This is just business as normal imo.
