Muslims are waging civil war against us, claims police union
Radical Muslims in France's housing estates are waging an undeclared "intifada" against the police, with violent clashes injuring an average of 14 officers each day.

As the interior ministry said that nearly 2,500 officers had been wounded this year, a police union declared that its members were "in a state of civil war" with Muslims in the most depressed "banlieue" estates which are heavily populated by unemployed youths of north African origin.

It said the situation was so grave that it had asked the government to provide police with armoured cars to protect officers in the estates, which are becoming no-go zones.

The number of attacks has risen by a third in two years. Police representatives told the newspaper Le Figaro that the "taboo" of attacking officers on patrol has been broken.

1. Wow. The French government should do something about that.
They have a responsibility to promote the welfare of their citizens, not to mention their police officers.

the "union" Action Police has 150 members among the 100 of thousands policemen in France. Action Police is a so called Christian union and the leader Michel Thooris is a complete nut with sympathies with Le Pen and De Villiers (catholic integrist). He has previously declared that the "youth" was "armed with RPGs, AK47 and heavy weapons" and therefore the police should be more heavily equipped... This guy is more dangerous than the street gangs.

It is true that there has been recent clashes with street gangs but it has nothing to do with "Muslims" : many of them are black (and of Christian background) and not so few white.

About the wounded police, it's mostly for minor scratches, few are seriously wounded (two serously recently).

It's true that measures have to be taken (which would be easier if the French left wing wasn't shouting fascism everytime a brown skinned delinquent is arrested) but theis is not Baghdad.

And it's only hurting France's image.
