Former LOS ANGELES TV reporter and LAPD officer and sometime CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES fill-in host and guest ROD BERNSEN was arrested in LONG BEACH on SATURDAY on suspicion of molestation after an incident on board a cruise ship.

BERNSEN, 58, who is well-known in the market for his long run as a reporter for FOX O&O KTTV (TV) (FOX 11), was a fill-in for KFI from late last year through MAY, was on a cruise with his wife and sister; KFI, whose reporter ERIC LEONARD broke the story MONDAY afternoon, reports that the incident took place in the ship's sauna with two 12 year old boys.

BERNSEN is being held without bail pending a TUESDAY hearing.

36. FOX11 is nothing like the fox news channel

Recently they are trying to bridge the gap by changing to a station logo but the morning news show decided to keep their old logo. The on-air personalities are very diverse (unlike the fox news channel) and although they do have have an entertainment reporter that openly expressed her religious affiliation she disagrees with idiots like Ann Coutler. I don't think FOX11 even comes close to being as slanted as CNN or MSRNC.

Thats whats great about the stations here in Los Angeles they actually report the news, I don't have to worry about some doppy reporter giving his or her personal opinion or reading emails on-air from some wack job with extremely slanted views.

FBI agents have arrested former LAPD Sgt. Rod Bernsen after an investigation into alleged inappropriate conduct with children on a cruise ship, KFI NEWS has learned.

Bersen was detained over the weekend when the ship returned to Southern California from a three day trip and was being held without bail at the Long Beach city jail, according to booking records.

Bernsen is expected to make his first appearance in court at the Roybal Federal Building Tuesday afternoon, the spokesman said.

Federal law enforcement sources, however, confirm Bernsen was arrested following an alleged series of incidents that occured on board the ship.

Every weekend I listen to a station here in LA called KFI. It's basically a conservative radio station, although to their credit they do have a center left host. But he's one out of 20. Their promos tout the fact that they are connected to fox news and they proudly boast that they support free speech. Of course, most of this free speech is just hatemongering.

Well they have been having a field day with the Cynthia McKinney incident. One host named Rod Bernsen devoted nearly his whole show to it. During his rant on this he said something that really exposes why Republicans simply should never be trusted by Blacks, or anyone who believes in fairness and equality.

He was going on and on about "personal responsibility" and "victim mentality" and all that and then said that Cynthia McKinney is doing more to harm race relations in this country than the Ku Klux Klan ever did.

He was an LAPD sergeant who became an LAPD spokesman. Whenever you had the guy in the field in the cop suit, talking on the record or taking questions at the scene of a crime or some such, it was always him. He was always the guy in the LAPD press office whom you'd call for a quick phone interview about whatever it was in the local news that involved the police. Then he went into radio and TV on the other side of the mike. Yikes! Today's LARP site (L.A. Radio People) had an item on him, but it didn't offer much:

"Bernsen Arrested. Rod Bernsen, former weekender at KFI, airborne traffic reporter for KTTV/FOX 11, and former LA Police sergeant, was arrested over the weekend after coming off a cruise ship in Long Beach. The boys alleged that Bernsen inappropriately touched himself in front of them in the steam room. They claim he later followed them to shower stalls where he inappropriately touched them, the affidavit said.

The boys told their parents about the alleged incident, which led to a heated discussion between a boy's mother and Bernsen, the affidavit said. They reported him to the security staff, which also spoke with Bernsen about the complaints.
