1. Nice answer
It's Bush who owes the world an apology.

That's a VERY good sign! :-)

Anyone who actually thinks this one issue will "blow up in our faces" and cause thousands of people to suddenly vote for the Republican candidate in their race when they were just about to vote Dem is living in lala land.

edited for typo. (sigh)

7. Indeed, no one should apologize for opposing Mr. Bush
I am patiently waiting for an apology from his supporters who have forgiven him every obvious lie he hold in getting hundreds of thousands murdered.

It is even more effective in his own voice. GOOD for Kerry, for responding quickly and emphatically this way.

9. Love it
>>"I'm not going to be lectured by a stuffed-suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq."

He further expressed disgust with "Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country."<<

18. Does that paragraph have echoes of John Lennon's Gimmee Some Truth
Im sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
Ive had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope

Did the pattern start with Cheney's shooting victim apologizing to Cheney for getting shot?

11. Kerry needs to make a bunch more like it
How a president who is in the process of losing two wars at once can be perceived by anybody as the essential man in the war on terror has got to be the mystery of the age.

28. I know that
What I was saying is that if you take any race - there are two things this could be seen as:

- To someone who is RW, Kerry who they already hate insulted the troops - though even their interpretation is logically wrong - saying SOME people have no choice but the service does NOT mean that is why all joined.

- To others, it is Kerry blasting Bush on Iraq.

Who is more likely to be undecided? If anything it calls attention to Iraq.

Maybe after the 139,240,242,266,983th time, we Democrats will learn not to apologize whenever the GOP tells us to.

19. Polls show the majority hates the fucking lying, torturing, murdering war.
So if this is a referendum on that, we win. What this is is another attempt to get the spineless, boot-licking, sycophantic, pathetic Democrats to blink and apologize.

Hell, I don't care if he was critical of the troops, who in the fuck made troops above all criticism?

31. IA, if they can't take criticism how are they supposed to be tough
enough to fight in a war? What is even more ridiculous is the constant right wing claim that the troops are so weak they cannot take it if Americans exercise their right of assembly to protest against the war. Any troops who aren't fighting FOR that can come back home right now as far as I'm concerned. If they aren't protecting THAT, they aren't worthy of being in the US military. But it is all a RW lie.

The RW does this in order to play the victim. On behalf of someone else's difficulty and suffering, since most of the RW are only armchair warriors.

25. Kerry did back down, a little.
It's a fact that military service is very class-biased in this country. The people who get to do the dying are community college students and people who skipped community college. What Kerry said is the simple truth and even describing it as a "botched joke" is a waffle.

30. So Kerry botches a joke, and he is told to
apologize, and that dumb son of a bitch Bush botches a war, 100,000s of human lives, an economy, the U.S's position in the world, our safety, Hurricane Katrina relief, and Bush then gets to go on national TV to demand that Kerry apologize.

33. You pretty well explained in fewer words what Kerry stated
in his speech today explaining his comments yesterday. It had nothing to do with the IQ of our troops only the IQ of our Great Leaders who never learned about the cultures of other countries before going to war, etc.

36. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, et al owe this country a huge apology
They're just cold-blooded killers, and war-profiteers; all of them. I hope they have to apologize for what they've done to our military, and all the civilians they've killed and maimed; but I certainly won't be holding my breath until they do. They started the war, and they don't even have a clue as how to stop all this bloodshed.

They need to apologize for stealing the election away from Al Gore, who won the popular vote.

Until those hacks have seen some time in service, they don't have the right to criticize a war
hero like John Kerry. He doesn't owe them a damned thing.:evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown: :evilfrown:
