MERIDIAN, Miss. -- A gunman opened fire at a Lockheed Martin plant here Tuesday, hitting several people, Lauderdale County authorities said.

A sheriff's dispatcher, who asked not to be identified, said she could not confirm initial reports that as many as seven people, including the shooter, had died.
