The Associated Press
Published: February 3, 2007

BAGHDAD, Iraq: Two U.S. soldiers were killed in fighting in the volatile Anbar province,
the military said Saturday, raising to 10 the number of American troops killed so far
this month.

The soldiers assigned to Multi-National Force — West died Friday from wounds sustained
due to enemy action in the province, a vast insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad,

The soldiers' names were withheld pending notification of relatives.

The deaths raise to at least 3,094 members of the U.S. military who have died since the
Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

Ten U.S. troops have been killed in the first three days of February, according to the
military, including two who died in a helicopter crash Friday northwest of Baghdad.
