The Politico: Gore to testify at Congressional hearing on climate change
Gore to Testify on Climate Change
By: Ryan Grim
February 3, 2007

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife Tipper pause to speak with reporters prior to the East Coast premier of "An Inconvenient Truth"

Former Vice President Al Gore has accepted an invitation to testify next month in a congressional hearing on the highly controversial issue of climate change.

Gore's film, "An Inconvenient Truth," which focused on global warming, received two Oscar nominations this week, one for best documentary feature. For people who make a parlor game of guessing Gore's intentions for 2008, the appearance will surely stoke speculation that he may yet be a late entrant into the Democratic presidential derby.

Gore will appear at a joint hearing on Wednesday, March 21. He will be the only witness to appear before the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality and the Science and Technology Subcommittee on Energy and Environment. Gore served on both committees during his House tenure representing a Tennessee district....

3. Methinks Mr. Grim is showing his bias:
"........a congressional hearing on the highly controversial issue of climate change........."

It's not "highly controversial", unless you are a flat-earther or a bible-thumping fundie creationist/dominionist.

6. mark your calender, Wednesday, March 21st!
I'll be watching and rooting for our once and future president.
Wouldn't it be ironic if he ran and won by an overwhelming majority in '08?
If you don't want to get steamed, don't read the comment section of that article. All the usual denialist tricks, "not human caused," etc. Go Gore!

10. That's the Vernal Equinox.
A good way to start the first day of Spring. It would be nice if "Inconvenient Truth" won an Academy Award to give this issue more visibility. I'm still hopeful that he will enter the '08 race. It's early still.

11. and if he wins a Nobel Peace prize too
that would be a very good day. I think he will wait until next Fall to announce, which - after another summer of record breaking heat, will be very timely indeed. :applause:

9. Your welcome, I hadn't followed any of the House debates
so I had no idea who was on those committees - and thought others might want the links. This really is the time and Gore is the one who could push people to finally do things.

Now being on the other side and not "one of them" he can speak freely. I hope he does to all regardless of party because this is not a partisan political issue.
