Contractor linked to Cunningham sells office [San Diego UT]
Man - these people have no shame at all. They aren't even trying to hide their dirty dealings.

Here's a snippet:

Poway defense contractor Brent Wilkes sold the headquarters of his now-defunct company ADCS Inc. last week, shortly before it was supposed to be put up for auction.

The building was not sold to a stranger.

Wilkes, whose company collapsed after his name was connected with the corruption scandal involving former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham, sold it to a limited partnership represented by former ADCS executive and legal counsel Paul E. Smithers.

Smithers is the registered agent of Ironwood Twelve LLC, which bought the ADCS headquarters Jan. 30.

Smithers and Wilkes have not responded to requests for comment on the transaction.

Contractor linked to Duke Cunningham sells office

February 7, 2007

....

Like Wilkes and many of his associates, Smithers is an alumnus of San Diego State University, graduating within two years of Wilkes.

Smithers, a partner in the Poway law firm of Smithers & Player, began doing legal work for Wilkes around 2000.

In 2001, Smithers was listed on government documents as an executive or lawyer with ADCS, a company that obtained more than $100 million in government contracts as it pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into congressional political campaigns.

In the last seven years, Smithers has donated $8,075 to the ADCS political action committee and $13,500 to campaigns and political action committees run by influential politicians. Smithers' contributions, including $1,500 to Cunningham, came at the same time as contributions made by Wilkes and other ADCS officials.

Last year, Smithers was one of four Wilkes associates subpoenaed by a Texas prosecutor for information related to donations to a political action committee run by former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.
