Capture is triumph for 2 generations of Bushes
By Dave Montgomery
Star-Telegram Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON - After learning the news like most Americans -- from TV -- former President George Bush called the White House.

"Congratulations," he told his son early Sunday morning. "It's a great day for the country."

While the victory clearly belonged to President George W. Bush, the capture of Saddam Hussein was also a vicarious triumph for the president's father, decisively resolving an international standoff that began more than a decade ago, on the 41st president's watch.

In what became the high point of his one-term presidency, the elder Bush resoundingly defeated Saddam in the Persian Gulf War in 1991 but then watched with the rest of the world as the resilient dictator rebounded and continued his oppressive reign for another decade.

6. Those bushies just love wars
and giving tax breaks and special government
positions to the very very very wealthy don't
they?

Another four years of AWOL will be more wars
and more favors for the very very very wealthy.
We will also lose the rest of the media that
hasn't already been taken over by the right.
Every news channel will be a copy of faux news.
Every talk show will be a copy of Rush Limpballs.

7. That is precisely what this is all about
We set this little thug up to do our bidding (Iran), and he had the gall to expect someting in return (Kuwait). When he didn't learn his lesson and bend to our will, we had to rub him out.

Gangsters is as gangsters does...

Now shut up and let us continue with the looting.

I seriously think that the pissy grudge match is more important to them than the massive amounts of stolen riches they can't seem to be able to extract. Poppy thinks he was cheated by history of his god-given patrician second term and place in the pantheon of privilege, instead of being the Caspar Milquetoast who failed and lost the empire for the ruling class.

People like these are the greatest argument for progressive taxation and restrictions on massive estates: people should make their way in the world; those who don't are often shockingly incompetent, and since they inherit positions of power, they're dangerous to us all.

Poppy always wanted to be a tough guy, but he's too weak and cheap; if he'd put some money and effort into toppling Saddam in '91, it could have been done. (I think he pretty much had to stop the army; there was no mandate to take Baghdad and end the regime.) Instead, in typical Republican fashion, they were miserly and didn't get their way because of greed. Also, typically, they abandoned the Shiites and brought untold ill-will down on our heads. It's just like the Afghanistan pipeline in the summer of '01: if they'd offered the locals a decent piece of the action, they wouldn't have had to make a deal with the Argentine company and precipitate a war...

12. Picture of Iraqis loving America for 'freeing' them.

Mourners chant anti American slogans during the funeral procession for Iraqi Shamil Nafe, 30, along the streets of Baghdad's Adhamiya area, Tuesday Dec. 16, 2003. Nafe was killed by the U.S forces yesterday when a demontration supporting former captured Iraqi President Saddam Hussein took place in Adhamiya and ended with clashes with the U.S Forces. 14. well
I'm so *happy* that Bushco has *totally used* my country to acheive their petty little personal goals.

Guess it makes it all worth it if the son can avenge the father.

15. Quick! Kill Saddam Hussein, BEFORE
He spills the beans on the Bush Family Mafia. Oh, if only we had some freedom of the press--and some initiative. Another DEEP THROAT--military issue, would sure come in handy now.
