GOP Rep. warns Bush if border patrol agents die 'there's going to be some kind of impeachment'

Several Republican lawmakers have sharply criticized the imprisonment of two border agents who were convicted of shooting a Mexican drug smuggler in the back and attempting to cover it up.

Appeals to President Bush to pardon the two men, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, have increased since one was assaulted by fellow inmates in a federal prison last weekend.

Yesterday, two Repulican Congressmen had strong words to say about Bush, with one even threatening impeachment.

"Now, I tell you, Mr. President, if these men -- especially after this assault -- are murdered in prison, or if one of them lose their lives, there's going to be some kind of impeachment talk in Capitol Hill," Rohrabacher said.

This my first post on here. You know, I don't care how shrub and darth are impeached...just long as they are out! In fact we are having a Town Hall Forum in Tacoma WA Sat 2/10 at 1pm with Rep. Adam Smith about the war and one of the questions to be asked is if Bush can be impeached for falsifying war info. I love this site-Mike C

but I always love to watch these hypocrits fight among themselves. IMHO Bush et al should allbe tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity. I just spent a good part of this past week feeding protesters from all over the coun try coming to Tacoma for the Ehren Watada trial, plus being out there myself. It's been an interesting week.

Those two border agents shot an unarmed man in the back as he ran away. I don't need to state that I support the border guards and police and such so I won't.

Rohrbacher and Duncan "can he be any dumber" Hunter have been carrying the water on this clearly without checking it out ahead of time. They clearly thought they had a winner here.

Where did I find out about this? On O'Reillly show the night Colbert was on. The DA in this case was on and he completely blew the story out of the water-O'R didn't take him on as it was clear that this had a horrible taste to it. It was very funny that O'R would have this on the night that so many Colbert viewers as well as a large audience would be watching.

They got attacked in prison huh? sounds like they might have an overcrowding problem maybe someone with some power could look into that...if they have the time of course.

As for the Border Patrol, there's been so much loose talk (from politicians,from Homeland Insecurity, from talking heads) about terrorists being among the tide of illegals (who are just coming over for jobs), hate-mongering, and fear-mongering, that I felt it was only a matter of time before shooting started.

I have no idea about the dead drug smuggler, but I have wondered if the officers were being scapegoated in some fashion. The whole thing has seemed fishy to me, from top to bottom, and putting them in with the general prison population is virtually a death sentence. How is that justice?

If this is what gets the attention of Rohrabacher and Duncan, fine with me. I lay it all at Bush's feet.
