White House sticks to claim of Iranian involvement in Iraq

WHITE HOUSE The White House says it's confident Iran's regime is behind deadly, armor-piercing bombs in Iraq, despite comments from the Joint Chiefs chairman casting doubt on that claim.

White House Press Secretary Tony Snow says a unit attached to Iran's Revolutionary Guards is responsible for smuggling the weapons into Iraq. And while Snow says there's no way to say for sure who signed the orders, the Iranian government is involved at that level.

General Peter Pace said earlier that the discovery of roadside bombs in Iraq containing material made in Iran does not necessarily mean Tehran is directly involved.

Snow says he's going to "let General Pace speak for himself."

3. Still nobody going on record
Tony Snow, as press secretary, doesn't count. Nobody will go on record as asserting this. Why are the media giving play to anonymous rumors and agitprop designed to do nothing more than stir up the gullible? This is irresponsible reporting in its lowest form, worse than yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater when there is no fire.

6. Then there's THIS Michael Sennett...
Army RDECOM Nanotechnology Integrated Product Team (Chair: Dr. Michael Sennett, Natick Soldier Center)

http://bcm.bc.edu/issues/fall_2001/ll_playball.html

The document title includes military time (2130), leading me to think the author is THIS Michael Sennett and not the Michael Sennett anti-trust lawyer from Chicago (google research indicates the Chicago Michael Sennett is a dem who has contributed to dem politicians, including Barack Obama).

But still it begs the question: Why is an Army nanotechnology researcher based at the Natick, MA Soldier Center the author of this "iran in iraq" report?
