Al Qaeda in Iraq leader reported wounded in firefight
Edited on Thu Feb-15-07 11:14 PM by flamingyouth
The leader of al Qaeda in Iraq has been wounded and his top aide killed in a clash with police, an Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman told CNN Thursday.

The spokesman said Iraqi police encountered an insurgent group on the road between Falluja and Samarra and, in a firefight, wounded Abu Ayyub al-Masri.

Abu Abdullah al-Majamiai, al-Masri's top aide, was killed, he said.

The spokesman said Iraqi police have the body of al-Majamiai and would not comment on the whereabouts of al-Masri.

The U.S. military had no comment on the report.

I'm just saying that AQ now has a wounded leader and the members will rally around him. A shame that Repubs can't rally around our wounded soldiers, who actually are true heroes and not terrorists fighting for religious idealogy.

9. The story lines are the same. These alleged "al-Qaeda in Iraq" leaders are all BS.
Are we to believe they sit around a campfire and hold elections?

8. These alleged "al-Qaeda in Iraq" leaders are never killed off right away.
Edited on Fri Feb-16-07 01:48 AM by pinniped
There are many categories reserved for these "al-Qaeda in Iraq" leaders.

- wounded
- injured
- hurt
- escaped
- near miss
- #1 aide dead or captured
- #2 aide dead or captured
- #3 aide dead or captured
- top aides dead or captured
- coffee maker dead or captured
- driver dead or captured
- facsimile guy dead or captured

The minister of propaganda then decides when it's time to end this alleged leader's existence and move onto the next alleged "al-Qaeda in Iraq" leader.

It is pretty damm obvious this is made up shit like the terrrrrrrra dude al-Zarqawi.

The story lines are the freaking same.

US checks 'Masri wounded' claim

The US military is investigating reports that the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq
has been wounded.

Arab TV stations reported early on Friday that Abu Ayyub al-Masri, also known
as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, had been hurt during fighting north of Baghdad.

A US military spokesman told the BBC that he could not immediately verify the
claims, or whether US forces had been involved in the fighting in Balad.

Little is known about Masri - the US military has said it believes him to be
an Egyptian militant based in Baghdad.
