Iraqi town takes prides in battling U.S. army
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/LAD752843.htm

FALLUJA, Iraq, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Empty packaging for Coca Cola and Gatorade drinks containers and Nabisco crackers litters the ground near the rail station in this Sunni Muslim stronghold a day after guerrillas hit a train full of U.S. army provisions.

"The looters left nothing, even the carriages were torn apart," said Ahmad Omar, 23, near the scene of the latest attack on the train that ferries goods to U.S. troops at a base near the city, a focus of resistance to their occupation of Iraq.

Saturday's capture of toppled ruler Saddam Hussein has done nothing here so far to halt the attacks on U.S. forces that many in the city cheer.

On the contrary, some residents say, it will only strengthen the resolve of the young Muslim warriors they call the Mujahideen.

1. this is why Bush is wrong
because these Iraqis don't want "freedom" Bush-style, they want to be ruled by a dictator. As funny as that sounds it's true. First we went in for WMD's, they didn't have WMD's so it turned into a war for liberation. What happens when we come to find out that the Iraqis are actually more comfortable under a horrific dictator than under our military?

2. They don't want American or the west....full bore.
They want to pick and choose what THEY want. What is comfortable to them is what they've known. You can't tell someone what is right and wrong and force stuff on peeps!

Their religion and way of life is TOTALLY different than ours and we are foolish to think that WE know better what is in their best interest! Heck we can't even manage our own crap!

None of this matters to this regime.. NONE OF IT! They don't care about deaths; about the fighting increasing; about the US peeps wanting us out; about the rest of the world; Israeli/Palestine peace; nothing..nada, but oil, gas resources and who will be top dog to stick it to China and Russia!

More chaos equals better opportunity for them to STEALTH through their agendas just like they have and continue to do here in the US to remove our rights/freedoms.

Nothing new! You have to admit at least under a horrible dicator they knew where they stood and knew where the line was that they should not cross...now they know nothing and have nothing along with no hope, no future, no $$$, no food, no electricty, no end to OCCUPATION, etc. Their loved ones are dying by the hordes, homes destroyed, CHAOS...total chaos over there and not looking any better. The doors are now wide open for all insurgents and rebels against the US to come for a free for all!

Welcome to the world according to PNAC!!

3. The US as "mujahideen"?
Remember when the Soviets were the 'evil empire', and Reagan supported the heroic Afghan mujahadeen against foreign invasion?

Now who's thought of as the evil empire?

Thw worm has turned, my friends.
