Charges Tossed for Canada Terror Suspect

TORONTO -- Canadian prosecutors on Friday dropped terrorism charges against
a teenager accused of attending a terrorist training camp _ the youngest of
a group of 18 arrested last summer.

The boy, who turned 16 while in custody last summer, has been out on bail
for several months, with strict conditions, including regular police visits.

"Now it doesn't exist anymore. He can perhaps do some of the things that other
teenagers do," said Michael Block, the boy's lawyer, who praised the decision
to drop the charges.

In making the 18 arrests, Canadian authorities announced last June they had
stopped a terrorist plot to attack targets in Ontario, claiming the suspects
tried to obtain three tons of ammonium nitrate _ three times what was used in
the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people.
