UN May Foil US Death Plans for Cuba
Source: Prensa Latina

Geneva, Mar 22 (Prensa Latina) Delegates and rapporteurs criticized the United States at the UN Human Rights Council on Wednesday, including an appeal to probe US training of mercenaries to fight Cuba.

-

The report presented by the rapporteur investigating mercenaries led to an interactive debate on the issue, at which participants spoke about armies run by private companies at the service of the United States and other countries, especially in Iraq, where nearly 50,000 mercenaries support the occupying coalition.

On that issue, Cuban delegate Rodolfo Reyes Rodriguez recalled that mercenaries are recruited on US territory to carry out what he described as death missions against the Cuban people.

On behalf of his country, Reyes proposed that the commission on mercenaries visit the United States, especially the state of Florida, to verify Cuba´s accusations.

Here's the website of one of Miami's own terrorist groups, Alpha 66. Take a look at what they admit, in their own words:

Photos from their own website.

Their website is in serious need of updating. Their former member, Eloy Gutierrez Menoyo, has returned to Cuba to live and operate his own political party, "Cambio Cubana." Here's an article on former Alpha 66 member, Eloy Gutierrez Menoyo:

Cuban exile leader returns 'for peace'

A former Cuban revolutionary who became the leader of an exile opposition movement in Miami says he has returned to live in Cuba to work for peace and national reconciliation.
Eloy Gutierrez Menoyo, of Cambio Cubano, said he could help Cuba more from within the country, than from abroad.

Mr Gutierrez Menoyo fought in the Cuban revolution which brought Fidel Castro to power, but later spent 22 years in prison for leading an armed uprising against his former comrade.

He told reporters gathered at Havana international airport he wanted to work "for a legal space for the opposition from which we can build a future based on pluralism and cohabitation".

11. They make no bones about being a US based terrorist organization

Their mission statement..
ALPHA 66 was created with the intention of making commando type attacks on Cuba to maintain the fighting spirit of the Cuban people after the failure of the Bay of Pigs invasion.

12. Here's a brief glimpse of terroristic activities involving Alpha 66, from 1992 to 1996:
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 11:23 AM by Judi Lynn
July 2, 1992: The U.S. Coast Guard rescues armed men in a disabled boat off the coast of Cuba. The FBI questions and releases them.

October 7, 1992: A small unit attacks a hotel in Veradero, Cuba. The men are picked up on their return to U.S. waters, questioned, and then released.

In January, 1993 Five people heading for Cuba with machine guns are arrested by the Coast Guard. The FBI questions and releases them.

April 2, 1993: A Cypriot tanker off the Cuban coast receives shots from a boat out of Miami. The attackers are released.

May 21, 1993: The U.S. Customs Service picks up nine Floridians on their way to Cuba with machine guns and explosives. They are detained, then released.

March 11, 1994: An Alpha 66 squad shoots at a hotel in Cayo Coco, Cuba. On their return to Miami they are allowed to hold a press conference.

October 6, 1994: Alpha 66 shoots at the same hotel and then returns to Miami without any interference.

May 20, 1995: Alpha 66 does it again. The FBI is silent.

July 12, 1995: The FBI arrests, questions, and releases three men who, on their return from an operation in Cuba, were found with weapons and explosives.

January 23, 1996: Five armed men planning to enter Cuba are detained and then released.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can't imagine how very, very long a list would be of all the publicly known assaults on Cuba by the Cuban right-wing violent factions.
Just the bombings they've done IN MIAMI itself earned Miami the FBI designation "Terror Capital of the United States," as you know.
6. If we are trining mercenaries - it means for takeover after Castro
dies. We know who got this training going,
Who in Congress gave approval for this?
Where is Al Queda in Cuba beyond caged prisoners accused of being Al Queda - without representation - at Guantanamo?
Who in Congress has given approval for the training of mercenaries to take Cuba?
9. historical answer: whoever will pay them
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 10:41 AM by kineneb
mercs throughout history were only loyal to whoever paid them...the minute the money stops, they could, and often would, change sides to the new paymaster... or turn on the former paymaster to extract their back pay. Mercenaries have always been a bad idea.
14. it's predictable about where the money comes from
and it isn't coming from the working class in Cuba.
Those who fled with Batista, the upper crust of Cuba, have been responsible for the initial financing. Alliances were soon made with the rightwing sectors in the US, and this money has flowed into their hands based on such predictable alliances.
