Suicide bomber hits Western troops in Afghan south


KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, April 11 (Reuters) - A suicide bomber attacked a convoy of Western troops in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar on Wednesday, but there was no immediate word on casualties, witnesses said.

The incident happened in the western outskirts of Kandahar city, in the heartland of the resurgent Taliban.

Both NATO and the U.S.-led military force have troops there.

Suicide bomber hits NATO troops in Afghan south


KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, April 11 (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber attacked a convoy of NATO troops in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar on Wednesday, wounding eight civilians but causing no military casualties, witnesses said.

The incident occurred as the convoy was passing through the western outskirts of Kandahar city, in the heartland of the resurgent Taliban.

Both NATO and the U.S.-led military force have troops there.
