Bush Renews Call for 'Culture of Life'
Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush, at the national Catholic prayer breakfast, stressed his opposition to easing restrictions on federally funded embryonic stem cell research, a reference to a bill he's threatened to veto.

``In our day there is a temptation to manipulate life in ways that do not respect the humanity of the person,'' Bush said Friday. ``When that happens, the most vulnerable among us can be valued for their utility to others instead of their own inherent worth.''

The Senate on Wednesday voted 63-34 to pass the measure that it hopes will lead to new medical treatments. The vote, however, fell short of a veto-proof margin needed to enact the law over Bush's objections. The House, which passed similar legislation earlier in the year, is expected to adopt the Senate's version in the weeks ahead...

38. Unless, of course, they are little tiny fetus "children".
Jesus told him right after he stopped drinking "Don't you be killin' any of those tiny little fetus children! The little heathen brown and black ones are ok. And so are the poor ones and the little slitty eyed ones. Just not the the little blond, blue eyed ones like me and the fetal, brain-dead types like you."

4. There's not
one bit of evidence in his entire cabal that indicates an iota of 'respect for humanity'. He's impoverished this nation and its people; ignored the needs of our military, both in and after battle - and let loose the furies on dear planet Earth in ways too numerous to count. I loathe him - a failed, hypocritical sack of useless genetic material.

36. That's the only reason why he is where he is.
And that's how he got there. I really think this is the very first time in World's history that lie , a common ingredient in politics, has been elevated to the status of core strategy. If you look at nearly all the statements issued by this (words lacking here) over the past 8 years, you will find that they express the exact opposite of what is done in actuality. The old Marxist prediction about the inversion of truth has been confirmed.

My cousin just found out she has MS. apparently his culture of life doesnt cover those already alive. not to mention QUALITY of life.

Republicans are great at the catch phrases like that. life this life that. But there is QUALITY OF LIFE that should be the main concern.

i'll have another rant about our sadistic healthcare system later.

Not that I disagree with embryonic stem cell research. I believe it can prove very beneficial, as long as things don't end up like they did in "The Matrix" with all those fetuses supplying the energy source for the "matrix." We should do the research, but we must always keep an eye on the ethics.

On edit: Not that I think we could actually power a city on the energy created by fetuses...

Americans drowning and dying in AN AMERICAN CITY, for crying out loud; ignores the plight of the poor, homeless, AIDS sufferers ALL OVER THE WORLD; ignores an blatant threat of an attack for months leading up to sept 11 and almost ensures the horrible deaths of over 3K innocent men women and children---THEN lies to over up his administration's unbelievable incompetence not only in the attacks but the poisonous aerosols that were in the air and was breathed by the recovery workers--he doesn't even provide them with monies and medical help after they inevitably fall ill and die; his not only sanctioning but setting up torture centers, secret prisons and exections centers, not the mention the law the allows hospitals in Texas to diconnect life support for moribund people who have no insurance, men, women and children BUT this fvcker has the unmitigated gall to actually wrinkle his lips enough to say "CULTURE OF LIFE"? Someone needs to drag this idiot off and place him in a home for the mentally fragile...

Hell, his wife killed her ex with a car, he killed and nutlated small animals and his vp shot his friend in the face....What the hell more do we need to drag this group out of the white house?

33. But Bush doesn't follow tenets of Catholic social justice.
Catholic teaching on social justice comprises not only issues like abortion and stem cell research but also peace-making, environmentalism, labor, and health care. In particular I'd mention that the church backs fair wages, the right to organize in unions, and access to health care as a human right, not something the market may or may not permit.

Bush is basically a free-market, anti-union plutocrat who regards employer-provided health care plans as too generous. He believes people should have to shop for health care, for example (Look it up; you'd be shocked at the mind-set behind the quotations).

And we all remember the Vatican appealing to the Bush administration not to go to war in Iraq.

Bush can't just dust off some chatter about "the culture of life" and ignore what he's been doing throughout his presidency to inflict permanent harm on the world.

About an author invited to the WH to prop up president psycho. His name is Andrew roberts and he wrote, "A History of the English-Speaking Peoples Since 1900." Apparently, it's all the rage with the culture of life that is currently killing so many people and destroying the quality of life for the rest of the planet. You've got to read it to believe it.
