Suicide bomber kills over 35 in Kabul: police

KABUL (Reuters) - A suicide bomber blew himself up in the middle
of the Afghan capital on Sunday, killing more than 35 people, a
senior police official said.

Afghan police were among the casualties, Ali Shah Paktiawal, chief
of Kabul police's criminal branch, said by phone from the scene of
the blast outside a provincial government building.

It was the fifth suicide attack in Afghanistan in three days.

KABUL, June 17 (Reuters) - Four foreign nationals were
among those killed in a suicide bombing against a police
bus on Sunday in the Afghan capital, the interior
ministry said.

The foreigners, whose identities were not immediately
clear, served as instructors for Afghan police, it said.
Germany leads the training of the Afghan police.

germany's participation is the least of our worries.

Kabul police bus bomb 'kills 35'

The bus was completely destroyed by the blast


Police said a number of civilians are among those killed in the rush-hour attack close to police HQ in the city centre. Five foreigners were wounded.

It is thought to be the most devastating bomb attack in Kabul since the Taleban were ousted in 2001.

Taleban rebels told the BBC that they had carried out the attack - the fifth bombing in three days.
