GOP senators hold 'spirited' discussion on Craig
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican senators held what one participant called a "passionate" and "spirited" closed-door discussion Wednesday afternoon about how their leaders responded to the sex scandal involving their colleague Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho, CNN has learned.

At least three senators complained their leaders "rushed to judgment" while others defended the leaders for quickly pulling their support from the disgraced senator, according to one Republican senator in the room and two GOP aides familiar with the meeting.

...snip...

Sen. Ted. Stevens of Alaska, whose home was recently raided as part of a federal corruption probe, stood up to say it's wrong to prejudge these matters.

He was joined by Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky and Sen. Michael Enzi of Wyoming, who also "wagged their finger" at the leadership, in the words of one of the aides.

1. Wagging their shit encrusted decrepit right wing fingers
Attempting to set a precedent of not "prejudging" when their day in the sun comes.

2. what is baffling to me these days is that
he was elected by the voters of Idaho - not by the GOP. Why do they have any voice whatsoever in what he does. Isn't that between him and the voters?

Both parties have gotten too "important" in the selection of our representatives.

6. Actually, parties are far LESS important than they used to be.
To wit, Joe Lieberman (I-Shitbag-CT).

3. my judgment is that he could have consulted a lawyer
apparently in MN there is a way to have the record expunged w/o entering a guilty plea. If he had been wise enough to get a lawyer, this would have gone away with no muss and no fuss.

Now, this guy makes laws... he's not smart enough to contact a lawyer?

If that's what Idaho wants representing them, they're welcome to him. I say he's an idiot.
