8 states sues Bush over children's health insurance
Source: NewsDay/AP

EAST ORANGE, N.J. - New Jersey on Monday joined seven states in filing separate lawsuits against the Bush administration's challenge of proposed federal rules the states say will force poor children to lose health coverage.

The lawsuit for New Jersey was filed Monday morning in federal court in Trenton, state Attorney General Anne Milgram said. New Jersey joins Maryland, Arizona, California, Illinois, New Hampshire, New York and Washington in filing similar the litigation.

"The Bush administration has gone beyond its regulatory rights," New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine said as he announced the lawsuit at an East Orange health center.

The lawsuit is another battle between Democrats and the Bush administration over a children's health care program.

8. Notice Texas isn't in the bunch
Because we don't really care about uninsured children in Texas. (or at least the present republican controlled state regime doesn't) :grr:

12. Woohoo New Jersey!
I know a lot of people don't like Jon Corzine for the cuts he has made in a lot of areas, but he knows where the money counts: children. He has a conscience, unlike the deciders who would cut every single poor child off of insurance in this country if they could, and give all the $$$ to the rich (and Iraq, and probably Iran as well soon).
P.S:
I also hope RI joins this list-my one day hopefully adopted home state...
