iPhone owner sues Apple for $1 millionStory Highlights
Source: CNN

SAN JOSE, California (AP) -- A New York woman is so angry at Apple Inc. for lopping $200 off the price of the iPhone that she's filed a lawsuit seeking $1 million in damages.

<snip>
Apple issued an apology the next day. Under its return policy, Apple refunded the $200 difference for those who bought the phone within 14 days of the reduction. And in a move to make peace with those who purchased the higher-priced phone before that period, the company offered a $100 credit at Apple stores.

According to Li's lawsuit, filed on September 24 in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, the price reduction injured early purchasers like herself because they cannot resell the product for the same profit as those who bought the cell phone following the price cut.

<snip>
Apple spokeswoman Susan Lundgren declined to comment, citing the company's policy to not discuss pending litigation.

She is also suing because she said she couldn't get the same profit that other people had gotten for selling the phones after they purchased them.

Console gamers have lived with this for years--you get the system at launch, and around the holiday season there's a price drop. Yet you don't see people suing Sony because their PS3s got price cut. I got the original PlayStation and the PS2 at launch, as well as the Sega Dreamcast, and I didn't get pissed off when the price went down. I put my big girl panties on and dealt with it.

It's called the price of being an early adopter. It's the way of technology...if you want to be the first kid on the block with something cool, you will pay for the privilege.

Gods I hate this country sometimes. Bunch of spoiled brats with massive entitlement complexes.

4. Methinks she is one of those folks who bought several and planned on selling them all
Remember those guys on E-bay selling PS3s for 2000$? Nobody bought it to my knowledge.

5. Most likely
Which earns her even less sympathy. Her own greed and stupidity got her.

6. and exactly how did that merit a $1 million lawsuit?
I'm sorry, I just don't see how a $100 difference warrants a $1,000,000 lawsuit......

7. The price you pay for being the first one on the block
I had to have a VCR years ago when the cheapest one you could buy was $500+ Top loading and no remote.
Should I have sued when the price came down and they put remotes on them with more than 12 channels?
