FOX News Poll: Americans Praying for Iraq War to End
Source: FoxNews

NEW YORK — Large majorities of Americans say they have said a prayer for soldiers serving in Iraq and for the war to end, while just over half say they have prayed for President Bush. The latest FOX News poll also finds that there are a few Americans — a small minority — who think the world would be better off if the United States loses the Iraq war.

...

While some 11 percent of Americans thinks the world would be "better off" if the United States loses the war in Iraq, most people disagree with that sentiment (73 percent).

Nearly one of five Democrats (19 percent) thinks the world would be better off if the country lost the war, which is about three times as many Republicans (5 percent) and independents (7 percent) that believe so.

Praying for Peace

Most people — 87 percent — say they have said a prayer for the troops and another 77 percent have prayed for the war in Iraq to end. A much smaller 54 percent majority of Americans say they have prayed for the president.

12. In other news, the sky is blue, grass is green, and Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead
What fantastic investigative and analytical "journalism" they do over at fox. What wondrous revelations will they deliver next? That most Americans are cooking "food" for dinner?

Fox publishes these poll results as if they are surprising - and maybe to Fox they are. To the rest of us, it's been glaringly obvious for a long time that of COURSE Americans are praying for the war to end. Praying, protesting, writing and calling and pleading with our congress-critters to end it. Maybe now that Fox said it, they'll start paying attention to the people that elected them, show some spine, and do something about it.

Yeah right, and lilac-scented winged pigs will fly out of my ass.

13. I wonder if the ones praying
were the same ones who swallowed the MSM lies and supported the march to war in spring of 2003.

Wouldn't it have been better if these people had joined the peace movement in 2003, and maybe prayed for peace then.

17. STP prays for Fox Noise to end
News Crap is one of the companies making a killing--in more ways than one--off this war for profit. No wonder they're looking down on the majority of Americans, who want this evil war to end once and for all.

If they stopped praying and got off their lazy, passive asses, and harassed their congressman maybe the war would end.

21. JESUS CHRIST!!!!
Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 05:19 PM by Bicoastal
Not a prayer, but an oath directed at Fox News....

This is the most biased poll I've ever seen--at least, since the LAST Fox Poll.

Better off? Better off than WHAT?! I don't think losing the war will make us better off either--or WINNING the war, or calling the war A DRAW, or simply NOT ENDING the war. The only way we would've been better off is if the war was never started in the first place!!

But ooooh, "nearly one in 5" Democrats (a whopping 19%--real impressive) hate America. Shame on you, Fox.

How can they pray for the war to end and pray for bush. That's like praying for peace and war.

I can understand if they want an exorcism.

23. Did FOX brand those praying for the war to end as terrorists? I bet
they were tempted. They have too many buddies making money on this war.

27. and what do they mean by lose?
If we leave now, does it mean we lost? Saddam is gone. There are no WMD. Why are we still there again? I thought we "won" a long time ago. I definitely wouldn't want us to "lose" in the sense that our soldiers are killed. I just want them to come home now. The right wants that to be equated with losing so they can keep our troops there.

29. "declare victory and come home"
as Senator Aikens of Vermont once said during the Vietnam War. The truth is we should never have been there in the first place. Iraq or Vietnam.

28. Pray in one hand
shit in the other, and see which one fills up first.

All this story shows is that even Repukes are sick of this war. But our eminent Speaker of the House, and our so-called Democratic-controlled Senate still fund this fucking war.

Say what you want to about the Repukes, at least they show that every once in awhile, they can get rid of candidates that no longer follow their wishes. When are we gonna wake up?
