Ex-CIA analyst says lies led to war
Source: kalamazoo gazette

KALAMAZOO -- A retired CIA intelligence analyst told a Western Michigan University audience Monday that deliberately fabricated intelligence pushed the United States into invading Iraq.

Ray McGovern puts blame for what he called an unnecessary war on an executive branch focused on oil and Israel, on corporate-controlled media that don't probe, and on lawmakers overly interested in their own political survival.

``The Bush regime came into office determined to have what they called regime change in Baghdad,'' McGovern said.

It's up to American citizens to agitate for change -- even to the point of pressing lawmakers to pursue impeaching the president and vice president, said McGovern, who retired after 27 years in the CIA, serving administrations from John F. Kennedy's to George H.W. Bush's.

...

McGovern said citizens ``need to lean on these congressmen. ... We need to do whatever it takes, folks. As Martin Luther King said at one point, there comes a point where you have to put your bodies into it.''

3. I knew from the onset. GW first words " the oil fieds are secure."
Just a way to give money to his buds. Stealing all our tax dollars and giving the upper 2 percent a tax break so they would not bitch about the lies and the war.
We are just like Mexico now. Thet get in office and rip the country off and pad the bank accounts of their priviledged greedy friends.

How can repigs tolerate this corruption. Most of them are not really rich.

6. I know.
I told someone else a few months ago I should have a blog so when I see these things happening I can document the lies I'm seeing through on those dates so friends (or strangers) can't come up to me later and accuse me of being a Monday morning quarterback.

11. He's been outspoken on this subject for close to five years
His death would not lessen his message, in fact, I suspect there might be considerably more exposure, something the men behind the curtain would abhor, if he were to be removed by questionable means. His message is well documented all over the internets. Here's an enlightening interview with Will Pitt some years back.

8. Most people refuse to open their eyes to the amount of...
corruption in politics. If a politician wont stand up and speak out for us during their election campaign, why the fuck would they stand up for us when they win? I don't see too many candidates talking about impeachment, the attempt to privatize Iraq's oil or the hunt oil deal that took place. How about the patriot act and the attack on our constitution or the health insurance industry, why is it that there really aren't too many candidates speaking out on these critical issues? I know Dennis Kucinich is and I also notice how the media has ignored him from the start, if you think about it, he was the only candidate that stood up and said the war was about oil and there was no evidence to go to war. Makes you wonder why the rest aren't speaking out for us? Also makes me wonder why less people support Kucinich who IS speaking up for us and more people support the medias candidates that aren't speaking up on these important issues?

I wish more people would think about this shit before they place their primary vote, for some reason, I feel like we may not get a chance to have another democratic election if we make the wrong decision this time. It seems that the government has noticed that they have dumbed us down enough and they have taken their gloves off and going for the knock out.

Does anyone have a good explanation on why the ones who don't stand for us get our votes and the ones who do stand for us don't? There seem to be allot of very important issues that most of our candidates wont stand up for us on and it baffles me why we would elect them?
