American billionaire George Soros says he is willing to spend a fortune to get US President George Bush voted out of office.

1. This man is a living saint.
His organization plans on focusing its GOTV efforts in 17 key electoral states - states that Gore closely won or closely lost last time. It'll also relieve some financial pressure from whomever we nominate.

8. *'s "War Chest" Includes FauxNews, CNBC, ABC...
Mr. Saros doesn't have enough money to match the bottomless Bush* war chest.
All the Democrats in the country put together couldn't do it.

All we can do is buy a few minutes of advertising time a day,
which is surrounded by hours and hours of pro-Bush* propaganda.

We may not even get to do that for much longer. If our ads start
to have a real impact, the networks will stop running them.

6. This sounds like a challenge to other wealthy Democratic party
members. I hope so, they need to open up the war chest this election. Start dumping money into not for profits and grassroots organizations everywhere. Come at them from every direction! Go

9. Damn!!! I wish he'd hire me *LOL*
Seriously though, NWS some questions about his past as a financier, I am grateful to witness all the work he finances to try and help out humanity through the introduction and support of an open society.

11. Soros is American now? When did this happen?
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 05:30 PM by Tinoire
Unless you're backing Clark, I wouldn't be too happy about this news. Soros is behind all of the right-wing organizations we're slamming Clark for and have been denouncing for years. His approach is just a little more subtle.

He's also one of the Carlisle boys. I fear they're just hedging their bets to cover their investments.

I really hope we find a way to do it without their money. So far Dean and Kucinich have done an amazing job of this. Kerry also says he gets not one dime from PACs.
