High-ranking DNC officials subpoenaed in discrimination lawsuit
Source: PageOneQ.com

According to documents obtained by PageOneQ, a series of senior Democratic National Committee officials has been subpoenaed in an ongoing discrimination lawsuit by former LGBT outreach director Donald Hitchcock. Those ordered to provide sworn testimony include chairman Howard Dean, openly gay treasurer Andy Tobias, and Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council executive Director Brian Bond .

The suit charges that a campaign of infighting, discrimination and retaliation led to the illegal firing of Hitchcock after his partner, former Clinton appointee Paul Yandura, criticized the Party for what he claimed was a lack of support for LGBT causes, especially on the issue of defeating anti-gay ballot measures.

2. Sounds like they hired a firebrand.
And then dumped him for setting fires. Oh, well.

5. I guess I'm more tolerant, far better insulated and not nearly as angry as some here...
but it's good to know.

Far be it to expect a political organization to be political, but I will be very interested to learn more about the situation. Few states and certainly fewer national political organizations have "given" gay people anything of consequence aside from lip service (and not the good kind, either), and only when they need the votes.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Teh Homosexual Agenda and the threat of gay marriage were three hot button issues the Republicans used effectively over the past fifteen years to keep Democrats out of office, and they won't soon be forgotten - by either side. However, to expect the DNC to take a controversial stand on gay rights (if that's what happened) this close to the most important national election in memory is naive and short-sighted. Waiting until we have control is far safer and politically expedient. And not "Nancy Pelosi" or "Harry Reid" expedient, but "Smart" expedient.

The simple fact is, if the Republicans take this next election, we're all screwed and, for those of you who have them, your children, grand children and great grand children. Jeebus, we've waited this long for real reform, let's be the ones to pick the time and place for this fight and spend the time writing, organizing and getting it right.

Domestic partnership laws are cropping up all over the place already; maybe the Republics won't even notice until the final nail is in the coffin of traditional marriage and sane people have taken over the world. You know they're not the brightest bunch if they keep falling for the RNC party line.
