Al Qaida-linked gunmen in northwest Pakistan have attacked two offices of a government-sponsored peace movement and killed eight people, the military said on Monday.

The attacks were in South Waziristan on the Afghan border, where a militant leader the government says was behind the December 27 assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto is based.

"Miscreants fired at peace committee offices in Wana bazaar and Shikai," the military said in a statement, referring to the region's two main towns.

"Eight members of the committee expired," it said.

1. El-CIA-DUH
At work again. Clearly, the gunboat gulf of Tonkin crap we hear about now with Iran and this show they really want us at war with everyone, don't they. Rev up paranoia about Pakinstan by killing Bhutto, peace-workers, etc. Great job CIA. Scare Americans about 'instability' in hopes that they will want a right-wing Republican in the presidency, or at least their buddy Hillary. Great timing as we see the push for change from that (Obama and Edwards) gain traction. What a distraction...

3. Of Course

I don't have proof. I'm just giving a possible scenario. What I base that on would involve a diatribe that I won't put you through. To see the Al Quaeda lineage in the CIA, please check out Alex Jone's 'Terror Storm' video on Google Videos (it's uncut, unlike it is on You Tube). Or we can just continue to think Al Quaeda, you know, folks in a cave, are single handedly doing all this without the assistance of the right wing trying to create 'terrah' to keep the ignorant masses in check. You know, fight 'em there instead of here, etc...

5. Actually, it was an "Anbar awakening " type movement that involved the killing of tribal elders
by "gunman"

4. I was wondering how this "reporter" knew they shooters were "al Qaeda linked?"
Did they conduct interviews afterwards? Were there graffiti? Did they use special bullets with "al Qaeda industries" stamped on the casings? There are lots of people in Pakistan that hate the government for reasons that have nothing to do with al Qaeda.
