CNBC, New York Times to share content: Murdoch targets unite

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- CNBC, the unit held by General Electric's NBC Universal, and The New York Times plan to share material on their Web sites, The New York Times reported. The Times will carry CNBC video and CNBC will use articles from The Times, the report said. The deal unites the main competitive targets of News Corp's Fox Business Network and The Wall Street Journal, the report added. MarketWatch, the publisher of this report, also is owned by News Corp.

Rupert can't compete with the Times for news about government. The Times can compete with Rupert on business news though.
